CAN EVERYONE PLEASE CROSSPOST NICHOLE'S PLEA FOR A HOME OR RESCUER FOR LINDEN, AN 8-MONTH OLD BLIND PB AUSSIE SHEPHERD BABY?

Nichole is a vet tech, and rescued him at four weeks of age when a backyard breeder brought him to vet she works for, and asked for him to be euthanized.

This is an URGENT situation as Nichole sent out her original email on Monday but I didn't get the additional info or her email address until yesterday.

IF YOU CAN HELP BY RESCUING LINDEN OR OFFERING HIM A HOME, PLEASE CONTACT NICHOLE ASAP:

Hello! I am emailing you because I am in a big bind. I need to move to a new house that does not allow dogs so I need to find a suitable shelter/adoption agency of some sort where I can take my 8 month old aussie puppy, whose name is Landen - or I also affectionately call him "Monkey" or "Moose."

I cannot bear to bring him to the pound, i love him too much to do that. I am having problems finding a home for him because he is special needs - he is blind in both eyes.

Other than that he is perfectly healthy, up on his shots, microchipped and neutered, house broken and great with adults and kids.

The left eye is deformed, the right is a beautiful blue color - and very normal looking. They brought him in to put him to sleep at 4 weeks instead of looking for a home for him. I didn't have the heart to put him down so I adopted him instead. He has been living with me ever since in my apartment with my roommate and her westie.

He is housebroken and crate trained, though he does tend to have some separation anxiety when left alone for too long in his crate or in the house.

So therefore I'd rather see him to someone who is home a lot or has a backyard with another dog so he's not so lonely.

When he has to go to the bathroom he will let you know by going towards the door and usually running in tight circles or moving the blinds.

Landen is a very friendly, funny and happy little dog. He loves to play with the other dog and with us.

I have spent a lot of time socializing him with kids and all sorts of people, though he is still timid in new situations but he usually warms up pretty quickly.

He knows the basic commands - sit, down, stay, shake and he can walk on a lead by himself though I do like to use a tandem lead with the other dog so he has an easier time by following her. And of course he is totally up to date on shots, neutered and microchipped. I take very good care of my baby :)

I have attached some pictures - some of them are a bit older so keep in mind hes about 45-50 lbs now.

If you have any questions please let me know!

Thanks
Thanks,

there is a rescue in Arizona that rescues white, deaf Aussies, maybe some one can send them an email to see if they can help..

from "Jane Garcia" <critters911> :

Nichole just emailed me that Landen was taken by a woman from All Breed Rescue in Perris, CA. She thinks that the lady is keeping him as her own.

I don't know the group but hopefully she will provide a good home for him.

Hi Anna:

I'm glad the pup found a home - hopefully the woman will provide a good home for him. You definitely did the right thing by posting here, and you should know there are all sorts of sites that you can use to spread awareness of dogs available for rescue. For instance, I found a rescuer for a pup here
http://www.paw-talk.net/forums/f82/look ... 28687.html
and I'm sure there's plenty of sites out there where you can seek a rescuer for puppies or dogs.

Out of curiosity, how did you find the owner for this puppy? Thanks, in advance, for your reply and keep rescuing those pups!

Regards,

Lance

I didn't find a home for the puppy! I just posted the plea. The contact person was Nicole, and she isn't a member of the forum, but you can contact her:
