Another volunteer hoping someone can rescue Willow.... Please see below & send on to anyone you think could rescue this wonderful baby who is at The Pasadena Humane Society. .
SHE IS SO UNIQUE... PLEASE TAKE A SECOND LOOK AT THIS SUPER GIRL. I've seen her since she came in. She walks so easily on a leash; so many volunteers have walked her in the park. PLEASE forward on to those who might be able to adopt or rescue this darling dog who definitely needs to be pulled SOON! She needs someone to love her. I'd take her but with my buns/cats & a foster already, not possible. IS THERE ANYONE who can take her. I think I may be BEGGING but she's so worth it.
I'm donating $100.00 towards her a qualified rescue if that will motivate anyone to take her so she can eventually get to a forever home. There may be other amounts already donated. I'm not sure but if you are interested in rescuing, please contact Kai@phsspca.org at her email or call her at 626-792-7151.
THANKS for anything you can do to cross post this, send it on.... PLEASE...
BIG Kritter HUGS, Carol
Thanks! Carol

Hi Carol,

There is a wonderful dog at the PHS that may need a home with a rescue. I had originally heard she was going to a rescue, but I was volunteering on Saturday and heard that she hasn't found a home yet. I think people just assumed she had a rescue home set-up because she is such a great dog. Anyway, I really like this dog, as do many others, and I was hoping you could go visit her, and maybe work your magic and send an email out to the rescues.

Her name is Willow. Named by the PHS staff because she is so sweet and calm. She has been at the shelter since 1/16 and is the first dog on the PHS web page, ID #A225501. She is a 4 year-old pit bull, but she is really just a lap dog trapped in a pit bull's body. She is one of the sweetest and clam dogs I have been around at the PHS (that includes all breeds). She is amazing looking. Just a beautiful dog with a mocha colored fur that is incredibly soft.

She is really well behaved. She has been to the PHS shelter school several times and learned the 'sit' and 'down' commands while playing in games with other dogs and people. She has also been out on the mobile outreach unit and was really good around children. But that doesn't surprise me because she is really calm and easy going. I have taking her out on walks with the step-up program many times and she always walks loose leash. She is always incredibly well behaved without pulling, barking, or trying to chase down the squirrels.

I hope you check her out. You may need to ask to find out what her status is and whether or not she does has a rescue set-up. I think you will love her as much as everyone else who spends time with her. Unfortunately, I am leaving out of town for two weeks on vacation to Mexico so I won't be able to follow up on this. But Willow is to much of an amazing dog for me not to try and at least write a letter on her behalf.

Thank you very much,

Rik

Willow, dear Willow. She's such a sweet girl. Doesn't anyone have room for this very, VERY NICE dog?
How much has been pledged? PLEASE GO SEE HER, PLEASE. For some reason she's touched me and tears are falling as I type.
Please see her and her delightful personality. She's a LAP DOG! So loving..... If prayers mattered, she'd be saved!

PLEASE Call Kai Han or Mary Temple at 626-792-7151 RIGHT NOW as Wonderful Willow is in danger due to lack of space at the Pasadena Humane Society.
Thank you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am pissed off because time is running out for the sweetest, most gentle dog at the Pasadena Shelter.

Please see Carol's photos of Willow, because I don't have any. She has another posting.

As Carol said, Willow is a Lab. Retriever in a Pitbull Mix body She may be only a brindle brown in colour, but she has a svelte shape and the playfulness of a puppy.

I challenge you to check Willow out (Kennel 90) and not be delighted by her. All the volunteers, including myself, love her to pieces. A few months ago, the Shelter had a Pitbull Mix called Leo, and his ears were all shredded from when they used to fight him (whoever "they" were). He was a lover not a fighter, and someone was able to look beyond the outward appearance and see the sweet personality within. Leo was lucky. Willow should be given a chance too - she's just as sweet as Leo DO YOUR GOOD DEED FOR THE YEAR AND ADOPT WILLOW - SHE WILL BE THE GIFT THAT KEEPS GIVING. If you want more information, give me a call at (626) 796-1721.

Jacky O.

I am also a volunteer at PHS, like Rik and Carol. They are not exaggerating when they say how sweet and good Willow is. She's the kind you could leave with your children.

In the past I've seen the main rescue organization choose 1) a 13-year-old shepherd mix, 2) a fat 6-year-old Lab, 3) a strong-willed 6-year-old German Shepherd Mix, 4) an injured Bulldog Mix, 5) a rather hyper and loud PB/Sharpei mix, 6) an American Bulldog and 7) a 5-year-old male PB who hadn't passed all his behaviour tests. WILLOW IS YOUNGER AND BETTER-BEHAVED THAN PRACTICALLY ALL THE ABOVE. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY RESCUE DOESN'T TAKE HER.

I challenge someone to give Willow a chance - they will see that what we've all been saying is true

Sometimes there just isn't any more room at the inn, Jacky. I'm sure with all the dogs rescued there was a reason why they were rescued and I don't think "putting them down" as less than Willow will change anything.

I do believe just talking about Willow's good qualities might help but it's difficult to judge others' decisions about which dog to rescue. I KNOW they have reasons and for me, I am glad everyone of the dogs you mentioned got to rescue. We can only hope and pray that Willow gets the same.... but all the dogs you mentioned had good qualities too and there were reasons for them being rescued that we aren't privy to and I'm glad they got to rescue. :)

Many of the volunteers and staff at PHS love dear Willow, but sometimes there are a lot of tears when a dear dog like her could be EUTHANIZED. There isn't always room at the Inn. We can only pray that someone sees her and loves her the way she is loved at PHS. She's been there a LONG time and everyone is trying. Unfortunately, prayers are not always answered in the affirmative.

I know you want what is best for Willow and someone wanted what was best for the dogs you mentioned as perhaps not being as good as Willow. Jacky, it's all in the eyes of the beholder. They needed rescue also! :)

Thanks for caring so much about Willow. She is lucky to have you champion her!!!! God Bless you for trying so much. I know it hurts so very much to know of a wonderful adoptable/rescuable dog that just isn't pulled and it's hard to understand but perhaps she was born a pittie instead of a lab and that is why. Pits are hard to adopt out and the rescues that do help pitties are so full. .

I tear up as I write this and hope those tears of deep sadness will change to tears of joy when someone pulls her. We can only pray, Jacky.

Please, let's try to help as many as we can! When you see a need, don't eat for a day and donate that money to help a VULNERABLE animal IN NEED! :)

Another bump for Willow! She has been so depressed lately, just laying in her kennel. She really needs to get out of there.

From: pam hiserodt <ponchomom@hotmail. com>:

Hi everyone,

Some of you may know who I am from past emails and some of you do not. Again, as the emails come with desperation this one seems especially unfair. If I offer up the donation to get this kid out of the shelter and some place safe until a foster or home can be found, can any of you help? I do not have room at my house with 3 dogs already but I can certainly offer finances to someone who can figure out the "get out of jail" safely card.
Those who have dealt or are dealing with me know if I say I will pay, I will, if this makes it easier to move forward.

Thanks,
Pam
